Consistently applied across every communication, our logo/brand wedge creates a distinctive contemporary presence and helps us enhance our reputation and brand recognition at every touch-point.

As our logo/brand wedge will appear in a variety of media and layouts, flexibility is important. This flexibility also creates a fresh feel to all our communications.

The logo/brand wedge can be used in a right-facing and left-facing version and in different positions on a layout. Please use the rules and examples as a guide in its application.

The brand wedge should always appear in the corporate colour - PMS 2765 (C100 M98 Y0 K45). The drop shadow position should be proportionally the same.

Corner applications

This is how the logo/brand wedge lockup is positioned at the bottom right or left corner of a layout. The logo/wedge should always point inwards. Use the top two corners of the wedge as positioning guides. The ideal cropping of the wedge is indicated.

Please note: the angle of the wedge can't be varied. Use the top two corners of the wedge as positioning guides. The ideal cropping of the wedge is also indicated. It can be extended further into the layout if needed.

CDU logo for printThis is the wedge lockup to be used when the logo appears in a landscape layout. It should be positioned on the bottom edge, pointing toward the centre of the layout.

It should be positioned on the side edge, pointing toward the centre of the layout.

Logo/brand wedge - minimum size

In normal print production these examples are the minimum size the brand wedge should appear. If the print production is expected to be of inferior quality then a slightly larger minimum size (such as 120% of these examples) should be considered.

For online applications, please use these sizes as a guide only. If it is difficult to read the lettering on the wedge, then you should increase the size for the logo/brand wedge.

All of us should ensure that our university is properly represented. So please err on the side of caution when using the brand wedge at small sizes.

When it is impossible to print the wedge in the corporate colour, such as in a mono press ad, it is acceptable to print in black.

No other colour is permitted.

All other guidelines still apply to the wedge.

Floating logo/brand wedge application

Occasionally the CDU wedge will need to appear in a third-party layout with other logos, or in a setting where there is no edge to which it can be attached (a sponsorship situation for example). In these instances, where the logo can't be anchored to the edge of a layout, one of the floating versions can be used. It must appear with an anchor line.

Please note: whenever possible the anchored logo version should be used.

In the case of A3 posters and other advertising, the wedge should always point into the layout and should always be anchored to either the edge of the layout or to the edge of the hero image area (shown in grey).

The angle of the wedge can't be varied. However, it can be extended further into the layout if needed, for example, to fit inside a safe type area.

Logo/brand wedge lockup positioning - landscape

When using the wedge lockup in a centre position on a landscape layout, the size of the wedge can vary, but the proportions and lockup position should not.

The brand wedge can anchor to the bottom corner of the document (figure 1) or, the top of the wedge can anchor to the edge of the hero image (figure 2).

Designed for use in the digital space only, namely websites and EDMs, these version of the wedge are to be used when the lockup needs to appear at the top of a layout.

Keyline logo application

In some situations, the wedge will appear on a dark colour such as the CDU corporate colour. In these cases, the keyline version of the logo should be used.

This is the only instance the keyline version should be used. The keyline should always be white.

The thickness of the line should be kept to the same proportions as the examples shown here.
